Being from "Da Burgh" myself- I really appreciate the integration of the City of Pittsburgh as a focal point in this story of Althea - a woman who loses her husband Jack in a tragic accident & shuts herself off to love, and Griffen, a famous writer who returns home to assist an old Professor friend at Pitt but has tragic memories of living there. Althea raises her son with the help of devoted (and hilarious friends) Jenna & Aubrey. The girls push Althea to live after 5 years alone & as fate has it-she meets Griffen & sparks fly with the agreement of a two week affair. Can something from Jack's past come back to haunt the lovers? Will Althea risk her heart to be with Griffen? Rich story & I loved the mix of history & new beginnings! Loved it!

I finished this book this morning and I ended up LOVING it) I have to admit the start of this book (just the very start) for me didn't grab my attention right away. I am not sure how to explain it but I actually stopped reading and thought I wouldn't finish it, seriously, I can't pinpoint my exact reason except that it just didn't grab me from the start. OK, so with that being said I stopped reading and then about an hour or so later I thought hmmmm so many good reviews, so let me pick up again and see how it goes and I am SO GLAD I did because I became engrossed in it. I guess I had a bit of a hard time warming to Althea and I honestly wasn't connecting to her son either at first (only at first). I know, I know that sounds awful, lol, but hey it's true and then I met Griffen and OMG I was HOOKED!!!!!! I quickly warmed up to Althea as soon as these 2 met and BAM, HOT FREAKING SEX!!!!!! Oh yes, I mean, tingly in my girlie parts HOT!!!!!! Can I tell you they were BOTH equally sexual little creatures and I loved every damn scene with them. Griffen, oh Griffen, he was HOT, SEXY, ROMANTIC and oh so SWEET.....ok did I mention HOT, hehehe! Now I am not gonna lie because I wish I had gotten more in depth coverage after Althea that sexy little vixen went shopping for all those sex toys...YES I wanted MORE with that because they were just on fire together.... OK, I have to calm down here, lol, but seriously it was a GREAT read with mystery, suspense, great friendships and oh GREAT SEX!!!!!!!!!!!

I cannot wait to read the next book in this series!!!! Congrats Chloe Barlow, great job!

Griffen, a man running from the demons of his past, trying only to live in the present, finds himself back in his hometown, much to his displeasure.

How can two weary, emotionally scarred people learn to move beyond their past and grab hold of the happiness the other can bring them? While this book deals with heavy emotions, it’s also full of hope and laughter. The relationship between Althea and her two best friends is one of the top supporting character plots I have read in a romance book, ever. There are no superfluous characters in this book; each one is part of the story and holds their own. Each one is relatable, allowing me to immerse myself and get lost in the story.

There is sex in this book. Great, super-hot, makes you swoon sex. It’s not gratuitous, and it only adds to the story, building on the relationship between Griffen and Althea. And Griffen…oh my…what a beautiful, vulnerable, sexy character he is; I love Griffen! The strong, possessive and steadfast emotions he feels for Althea make him all that I look for and love in a character.

Three Rivers made me feel like I was in a river, in rapids, being carried away by the current of emotions the author expertly guided with her amazing writing. And what a ride it was! I can’t recommend this book enough, and it will definitely be a future re-read 
Tragic strikes Althea Taylor. She is left with something beautiful, but at the same time heartache for what she has lost. Her two best friends try to get her back in the land of the living. Brey and Jenna decide she has to get back out there. When she meets Griffen Tate it's only for one night, and she'll never see him again. The night they spend is intense. They have some kind of connection.

Althea and Griffen see each other again they can't believe it. They're both dumbstruck. She's not sure what to do. How can this be happening? When she finds how it's all related confused doesn't being to cover it.
When Griffen comes across something of Jack's he isn't sure of what to do. He turns to his good friend Trey, and what they find out is not good. It might put Althea in danger without more digging he can't tell her.

As things go on Althea and Griffen grow more fond of each other. He wants to be there, protect her if she needs it. The more and more he finds out it just builds his worry. The moments of true openings of there hearts and moments of epic passion are beyond amazing. It's has if two souls have found each other. She is so scared. Can she let somone else into her heart? Griffen has never belonged to anyone but he wants to take a chance. He's afraid she won't give them a chance. They both understand loss so maybe together they can help each other.

One of my favorite lines after Althea and Griffen leave the bar-
Is our girl safe with you?
You aren't a serial killer are you?
Don't lie to me, I can sniff out a liar."
"No, She's completely safe with me."
"Hmm, that is what a serial killer would say, but you seem honest. Here, let me take you picture. If anything happens to
her-you're toast," Aubrey snapped a shot, looked at and said, "hmm, can't see you butt in this one. I'm gonna need you to stand up and turn around.
